Children at all souls

Children of all ages are welcome at All Souls! A wide range of activities is put on for children so that they feel very much at home as part of the church family.

We want to help children come to know Christ and grow in knowing him so they can live as God's children in the world and persevere as Christians into adulthood! We do this by teaching the Bible to them and building good relationships with them. C Zone leaders play a part here but we want to support the parents in their vital role as the primary disciplers of their own children.
Groups meet during the 09:30 Service (only) on Sunday

To keep up to date with the activities of your child/children's group please make sure that your email address is up to date either by logging into your area, or if you do not have a login contact

All Souls has a room set aside for a children's crèche available for all under 2½ year olds on Sundays. Details are as follows:
Sunday Mornings

At the 09.30 service babies and toddlers can be dropped off in the Forum to be cared for by a team of volunteers during the service. Please sit in the designated area.
At 11.30 service, parents may come and look after their children, in the Forum, where there is CCTV of the service

Sunday Evenings

There is no creche team in the evenings - however the Forum is available with toys and a live TV relay of the service available for parents and carers who want to sit with their children.

sueWho leads it?

Sue Pollendine (right) has been running the All Souls creche for many years and has seen various generations of church families grow up through it. She has huge experience and is always happy to answer any questions you might have about what happens.

Who helps at it?

Sue is helped by a willing team of enthusiastic volunteers from the church family. All have been fully CRB checked.

Who is it for?

All babies and toddlers up to the age of 2½ years are welcome. We have many age-appropriate toys and books provided.

How can you help us?

Kindly take your children to the Forum if they are noisy during the sermon, so that others will not be distracted. Also please sit in the designated area (to the left of the stage as you look at it, in the main part of the Church) where you can be easily accessed by one of the creche team if needed.

C Zone (Children's Zone)

(ages 2½-11 / Pre-School - School Year 6)

The C Zone programme

Each school term, we run a full programme for children such as:

  • Families Lunches
  • Weekends away
  • Outings
  • All Age Services
  • A children's programme at Cornerstone (the All Souls Holiday Bible Week every August)
  • Holiday C Zone during the 9.30 service during the school holidays.

C Zone Sunday Programme

C Zone takes place every Sunday during the 9:30 service. The children start in church with their parents for the first 15 minutes or so. There is a Family Focus slot and children's song, after which the children can go to their C Zone groups for the remainder of the service.

The children are then divided into 4 groups.
  • Scramblers (Ages 2½-4 / Pre-school) - in the Langham Room
  • Climbers (Ages 4-7 / Reception, Yr1, Yr2) - in the Waldegrave Hall
  • Explorers (Ages 7-11 / Yr3 - Yr6) - the BBC Media Cafe (meet at All Souls first)
  • Mountaineers (children with additional needs) - in the Dining Room
For more information on each of the groups, click here.

They should remain in the same group for the duration of 1 year after which they will be moved up into the next group, as they do at school (from September to July). All parents should fill in a Registration Form with their contact details as well as any allergies their children may have.

The C Zone team

There are volunteer leaders in charge of each group, under the leadership of the Children’s Minister. All leaders attend trainings and undergo child protection checks (DBS).
