Addressing Physical, Mental and Spiritual Needs
In 1988, the 20/30s group at All Souls saw the growing numbers of homeless people in London and began going out regularly at 5am to find those most at risk of dying from hypothermia. Other ministries aimed at building relationships followed, ranging from Saturday breakfasts and bible groups to our befriending ministry where volunteers meet a guest for dinner once a fortnight.
Giving Help and Affection Without Preconditions
In the Bible, we read how Jesus healed the sick, fed the hungry, befriended the lonely and taught the Kingdom of God wherever he went. Following in his example, ASLAN’s ministries meet a wide range of needs: from shelter, food and clothing to friendship, help with paperwork and much more.
Transmitting Our Joy in Christ
Through ASLAN, God has demonstrated Jesus’ love to many hundreds of homeless men and women over the last three decades. We’ve celebrated with many men and women as they leave the streets for good. We have also seen people take up new hobbies, new studies, and even new careers.
Steadily Improving with God’s Guidance
ASLAN is constantly growing standards of care and support and we are always looking to develop our work. We would love you to help us continue to seek God’s will and respond to the urgent needs around us in central London.
