FROM LOUISE GIBSON, CHURCHWARDEN

This year we are taking time to reflect on God’s kindness to us as a church family over the past year, to meet together as a church family in the park for the Church Family Picnic and to respond to these blessings by giving a special gift for one building project and one area of ministry.

Over the past few years our thanksgiving and gift days have had a focus on improving the welcome to our church building. This year the Parochial Church Council is keen to continue this by improving the toilet facilities on the lower ground floor. Without going into too much detail they have become tired and look uncared for. In their current state they are also starting to cost money in terms of repairs. We would like to reorder the whole corridor to make better use of the space. The plans drawn up will lead to combining the two Ladies into one room and this in turn will allow a new fully-sized disabled WC to meet current regulations and a better laid out Gents.

We have developed a pattern of allocating some 20% of the funds given on the Thanksgiving and Gift Day for a new area of ministry. This year we are proposing a contribution to the setting up of a church plant in NW1. The need for the plant has come about because of an exciting and established gospel outreach work that has been instigated by All Souls church family members. Their work has reached the point where they need the support of a church in the immediate area. There are many details to be worked out and when these are clearer we will be making them known.

Even if you were unable to be with us on the actual day, please join us in continuing to thank God for his abundant goodness to us over the year and prayerfully consider giving to these two important projects in the life of our church. The Gift Fund is open for the next couple of months.
